He is a graded singer of Light Music in All India Radio, Thiruvananthapuram since 1992, He is the winner of many musical competitions in School, District, State & University Level Youth Festivals. He had selected as the “KALAPRATHIBHA” of the District Level (Kollam) Balakalolsavam in 1979. He is a HATRIC WINNER (1984, 1985 & 1986) of Recitation competition in Pathanamthitta District Schools Youth Festivals. He is the Fist Prize winner of “Voice of the Week” competition conducted in Asianet Channel in 1992 & 1993. He is the First Prize winner of the musical competition “SAPTHASWARANGAL” of SURYA-TV in 1996. He is the First Prize winner of the Light Music competition of the Central Govt. Employee’s Fest “KERALEEYAM – 2001”, conducted in Cochin. He had performed in plenty of shows and musical programs in all Malayalam TV channels & Radio-FM stations. His performance in ENNENNUM of Amrita-TV opened his way to playback singing, through the movie “KANAL KANNAADI” directed by Jayan Poduwal. Other movies are SUBHADRAM (Music: Raghukumar), IDAYAN (Music: Ramesh Narayanan), etc. He got so many hit albums released. THAALOLAM (Music by Viswajith), SREE SIVASAILAM (Music by Venmony Prakashkumar), ENNE ARIYUNNA SWAMI (Music by Sreedhar R.Menon), EN PRIYA YESUVE (Music by Edwin Abraham), NEDYAM (Music by Viswajith), etc are some of his notable albums. Sri. (Late) Mavelikkara Ayyakkutty Bhagavathar and Omallur Murali are his Gurus in Karnatic Music. He has got an excellent academic record and holding degrees like MSc-Organic Chemistry, BEd-Physical Science, PGDCA and PhD in Marine Chemistry. He worked as a Junior Scientist for various organizations like NIO (Cochin), KFUPM (Saudi Arabia), KFMMC (Saudi Arabia), etc. He is a native of Pathanamthitta District in Kerala, is the only son of Sri.P.K.Chellappan Achary (Rtd Senior Superintendent, DPI Office, Thiruvananthapuram) & Late Smt.
